Class 2 Heavy Vehicle Licence - Trucks 6,000kg to 18,000kg
Course Prerequisites:
You must have held a current full NZ Class 1 (Car) Licence for at least six months
You must provide a medical certificate (if you have not supplied one in the last five years). This is to be completed on a DL9 form - provided by your doctor (if getting an appointment for your own Doctor is delayed we have alternative Medical Assessors -Contact us on 0800 891 375 for info)
We recommend that your Class 2 Learner Licence is completed prior to the course (we can assist you with this)

Course Fee:
$1195 – HAS Class 2 Learners - requires unit 24089 and 17574 only,

Requires Learner licence From $160 –resources and support and includes 1 attempt at learner licence at AA/VTNZ only)
Also required – endorsement / admin fee (to upload new licence class 2 to your licence) $60 can be added to price)
Course Time (Theory):
Up to 2 days of theory work in the classroom to complete the Unit Standards:
24089 - Demonstrate knowledge of fatigue management, work time, and driver logbook requirements
17574 - Operate a rigid vehicle to meet the requirements for a full Class 2 driver licence
Class 2 Training & Assessment:
NB: This will be commenced upon the completion of your Class 2 Learner Licence and theory training. Learner licence must be carried and sighted by our instructor for any and all practical training and assessments.
Because We Train You / Murray Atkins has the necessary NZQA and NZ Transport Agency approvals, completing any of our training programmes means you are able to bypass any waiting period on the Learners Licence and gain your full licence immediately upon successful completion of our training programme.

Once Practical Assessment is Complete:
An NZTA Certificate will be issued to you
You must take this certificate to VTNZ or AA, with the completed DL1 application form, to have Class 2 endorsed on your licence. An additional fee (payable to AA/VTNZ) will occur.
TO UPGRADE from class 2 to class 4
You are able to upgrade your Class 2 Full Licence to a Class 4 Learner Licence at any licensing agent (with no theory test required) after you have held your Class 4 Full Licence for the following length of time:
Under 25 years of age:
You must have held your Class 4 Full Licence for at least 6 months
Over 25 years of age:
You must have held your Class 2 Full Licence for at least 3 months
